So what is iReal Pro? It is an app that at this moment in time is available for iOS, Android and Macs, and I will be reviewing the iOS version that I use on my iPad. I’m not super fast or perfect but i can work my way through melodies but some of these chords with more complex extensions are tough. This is my review for the iReal Pro backing tracks app this is a super cool app that you can use to download chord charts for songs, create your own chord charts from scratch, and then use the app to play backing for you in multiple styles with various instruments. Is using iReal Pro a good supplement to learning the main structure of a song and chords of a song? I know some people say it can be a crutch, and part of me feels like I'm cheating a little bit? Mainly because once my ear started to develop more, I challenged myself to only learn songs by ear, but some of these jazz chords are tough. But now I've been listening to some jazz and want to start learning some devices and how to apply them. I've seen this question pop up from time to time but I'm trying to get into blues/jazz guitar a little bit and I've played mainly blues for my short guitar journey (about 2 years).
